# CosmicTao Review Free Bazi calculator and I Ching oracle with AI-assisted explanations, built on classical Chinese metaphysics rules. ## Editor's Score: 66/100 Capability scores well for the free tier: 144 True Solar Time correction rules, Liu Yao and Na Jia context in the I Ching oracle, and a scored compatibility matcher are genuinely deeper than most free Bazi tools. Ease of use benefits from a clean step-by-step flow and bilingual support, though the web-only limitation and no confirmed mobile release date add friction for mobile users. Value is pulled down by the hidden PRO price: a buyer cannot compare the upgrade cost against OpenFate or other paid alternatives without creating an account first, which is a real barrier. Delivery lands in the low teens because no user sentiment, reviews, or third-party validation were findable for CosmicTao, and the PRO pricing opacity means the gap between what is promised and what is actually delivered at the paid tier cannot be independently verified. ## Pros - Free Bazi chart applies 144 True Solar Time correction rules and returns Day Master, Ten Gods, Five Elements, luck pillars, and annual cycles at no cost, which is more calculation depth than most free competitors offer. - Bilingual English and Chinese interface with classical terminology preserved throughout, making it genuinely useful for users who want to cross-reference traditional sources rather than read a simplified summary. - I Ching oracle includes Liu Yao, Na Jia stems, Six Relations, and seasonal strength context alongside the standard 64 hexagrams, going well beyond the coin-flip-plus-generic-text approach common on other sites. ## Cons - PRO tier pricing is not displayed in plain text on the pricing page, so a prospective buyer cannot compare upgrade cost against competitors like OpenFate before creating an account. - The mobile app is listed as coming soon with no release date, meaning the tool is web-only for now and the mobile experience is unverifiable. - The Wish Sanctuary and palmistry reading features sit alongside the serious chart tools without clear separation, which can make the product feel unfocused to a user who came specifically for Bazi or I Ching depth. ## Pricing Freemium. Its PRO tier adds luck pillars, annual cycles, synastry, and radar views, but the pricing for those upgrades is not publicly listed in plain text, which makes it hard to evaluate value before signing up. Readers who want Western astrology or a broader multi-system chart platform should look at OpenFate instead. Best for: Curious English-speaking learners of classical Chinese metaphysics Not for: Users who want Western astrology, quick personality summaries, or transparent upgrade pricing upfront ## Overview CosmicTao is a bilingual (English and Chinese) Eastern metaphysics platform built around two free core tools: a Four Pillars Bazi calculator and a digital I Ching oracle. What separates it from generic horoscope sites is the calculation depth. The Bazi engine applies 144 True Solar Time correction rules before building a chart, then surfaces Day Master strength, Ten Gods, Five Element distribution, luck pillars, and annual cycles. The I Ching oracle uses digital coin casting to generate a primary hexagram, changing lines, and a resulting hexagram, then layers in Liu Yao, Na Jia stems, Six Relations, and seasonal strength context. That is a level of classical framing most English-language astrology apps skip entirely. AI sits in a deliberately limited role here. The site's stated position is that AI is the translator, not the prophet: calculations follow traditional rules, and AI only helps explain the output in plain language. That framing matters because it keeps the tool honest about what it is doing, rather than dressing up a language model as an oracle. Beyond the two free tools, CosmicTao offers a compatibility matcher that compares Five Element balance, Day Master interaction, spouse palace signals, and year pillar interaction with a scored result. A public Wish Sanctuary lets users post Quick Wishes (which expire after 24 hours) or Permanent Wishes. A growing library covers Bazi, I Ching, palmistry, and Chinese zodiac. PRO reports add luck pillar depth, annual cycle views, synastry, spirit stars, and a 5-dimensional radar view, though the exact price of PRO is not displayed in plain text on the pricing page. A mobile app is listed as coming soon, with Bazi charts, I Ching readings, and account sync planned. The site is fully bilingual, which is a practical advantage for users who read Chinese and want to cross-reference classical terminology. ## Who should use it CosmicTao suits someone who has encountered Bazi or I Ching terminology and wants a free, calculation-grounded tool to explore their own chart without paying a consultant. A student of classical Chinese philosophy who reads both English and Chinese will get the most out of the bilingual library and the traditional terminology kept intact throughout the interface. Someone curious about compatibility in a relationship context can use the free matcher to get a scored comparison before deciding whether the PRO synastry report is worth the upgrade. Anyone who wants Western astrology (natal charts, transits, progressions) should go to OpenFate, which covers both Eastern and Western systems in one platform. Users who want a fast, single-question personality or color-type result rather than a chart-based reading will find CosmicTao's depth more than they need and should look at ColorSeason AI or ChromaSeason for lifestyle-oriented AI tools instead. ## FAQ Q: Is the Bazi chart really free, or is it a limited preview? A: The core Four Pillars chart, including Day Master strength, Ten Gods, Five Element distribution, luck pillars, and annual cycles, is free. PRO reports add deeper analysis layers on top of that free base. Q: How much does the PRO tier cost? A: The PRO pricing is not displayed in plain text on the public pricing page. You would need to create an account or contact CosmicTao directly to see the current price before upgrading. Q: What does True Solar Time correction mean for my chart? A: True Solar Time adjusts your birth time for your exact geographic longitude rather than using the standard time zone clock. CosmicTao applies 144 rules to make this correction, which can shift the hour pillar in your Bazi chart and change the resulting analysis. Q: Does the I Ching oracle use real randomness or a fixed algorithm? A: The oracle uses digital coin casting to generate the hexagram, which simulates the traditional three-coin method. The site does not publish the specific randomness implementation, so the exact technical method is unverified. Q: Is there a mobile app? A: A mobile app is listed as coming soon on the site, with Bazi charts, I Ching readings, and account sync planned. No release date is published. Q: Does CosmicTao cover Western astrology? A: No. CosmicTao focuses exclusively on Eastern metaphysics: Bazi, I Ching, Chinese zodiac, palmistry, and compatibility based on Four Pillars. For Western natal charts or transits, OpenFate is the closer option.
