MakeRapVideo is best for anyone who wants a shareable joke or birthday rap video without any editing skill. Its output is fixed at 9 seconds and 720p, and HeyGen produces far more flexible AI video content if you need anything beyond a single novelty format. Anyone who needs longer videos, higher resolution, or reliable purchasing should look elsewhere entirely, since the checkout system is not currently open.
What is MakeRapVideo?
MakeRapVideo is an AI rap video generator for two people. Upload a photo of you and a friend, choose a vibe (Studio Duo, Friends, or Birthday) and a flow like Trap, Drill, or Boom Bap, and add a topic of up to 140 characters. The AI writes original English rap lyrics, generates a matching beat, and both people perform it. In about 3 minutes you get a 9-second 720p vertical MP4 with sound and captions, ready for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. Photos become unavailable within 24 hours and videos stay private for 7 days. Every prompt and output is screened for content safety. Your first video is free (watermarked); plans from $9.90/month.
How we scored MakeRapVideo
Capability scores 12 because the tool produces exactly one output format: a 9-second 720p two-person rap video with no length, resolution, or language options, which is far narrower than any named directory competitor. Ease of use scores 20 because the input is genuinely minimal (two photos, a topic, a preset) and requires no skill. Value scores 10 because the Ultra monthly plan at $39.90 yields only approximately 5 videos per month, making the per-video cost roughly $8 each, and more critically, no purchases are currently possible at all, so the pricing is theoretical. Delivery scores 10 because the product is explicitly in a pre-commercial state with checkout unavailable, no confirmed user base, and an unverified payment processor listed on the pricing page, all of which are concrete delivery failures rather than minor caveats.
Pros and cons
What we liked
- Genuinely zero editing skill required: two photos and a 140-character prompt is the entire input, making it accessible to anyone.
- Strong privacy defaults: uploaded photos are deleted within 24 hours and generated videos stay private for seven days, which is notable for a face-based AI tool.
- First video is free with no credit card required, so the core experience can be tested before any commitment.
Where it falls short
- Checkout is not live: the pricing page explicitly states purchases and subscriptions are currently unavailable, meaning the product cannot be monetarily upgraded right now regardless of which plan a user wants.
- Output is locked at 9 seconds and 720p with no options to change length, resolution, or aspect ratio, making it unsuitable for any use case beyond a single short social clip.
- Only two-person rap videos are supported in English only, with three vibe presets and three flow styles; there is no solo mode, no language support beyond English, and no way to customize the beat or lyrics after generation.

Who should use MakeRapVideo?
MakeRapVideo fits a narrow but real use case: someone who wants to send a friend a funny birthday rap, post a novelty duo clip on TikTok, or generate a quick social media moment without touching any editing software. A solo content creator who publishes weekly would burn through the Ultra plan's roughly five videos per month fast, and the fixed 9-second length means there is no room to build anything beyond a single punchline.
Anyone who needs talking-head videos with custom scripts, longer clips, or higher production quality should go directly to HeyGen, which supports full AI avatar videos, talking photos, and video translation at resolutions and lengths that MakeRapVideo cannot match. If the goal is editing existing footage or adding captions to real video, CaptionBolt is a better fit and is already a working commercial product.
Skip it if: Anyone needing longer, higher-resolution, or professionally flexible AI video output
