Tideris is the clearest English-language entry point for anyone curious about Chinese metaphysics: it covers BaZi, Liu Yao, Qi Men Dun Jia, and synastry in one place, with AI explanations that assume no prior knowledge. Its main weakness is pricing opacity, the live pricing page returned no readable tier names or figures, so it is impossible to know what paid access actually costs before signing up. Anyone who needs transparent, upfront pricing or a purely calculation-focused tool without AI interpretation should look at OpenFate instead.
What is Tideris?
Tideris is an AI-powered Chinese astrology platform. Enter your birth date to get a free BaZi (Four Pillars of Destiny) chart with an AI explanation of your Day Master, Five Elements balance and luck cycles. Free daily tools include a daily fortune, a Five Elements outfit guide, and Chinese zodiac and Western horoscopes. For specific questions, Tideris offers Liu Yao (I Ching coin) divination and Qi Men Dun Jia timing readings, plus relationship compatibility analysis. Everything is written in plain English, no prior knowledge needed.
How we scored Tideris
Capability lands at 18 because Tideris genuinely covers four distinct Chinese metaphysics systems with true solar time correction and interactive follow-up questions, which no directory competitor matches in breadth. Ease of use scores 18 because the plain-English output, free quick reading widget, and structured educational guide library lower the barrier for complete beginners. Value drops to 10 because the pricing page returned no readable tier names or prices at review time, making it impossible for a buyer to evaluate what they are paying for before signing up; that opacity alone is a serious value problem regardless of what the actual prices turn out to be. Delivery scores 12 because the combination of unreadable pricing, no confirmed social presence, and a free tier that gates most substantive features behind an unknown paywall raises real questions about whether the product delivers on its freemium promise; the site's own content is credible, but the lack of any verifiable pricing or user sentiment data prevents a higher score.
Pros and cons
What we liked
- Covers four distinct Chinese metaphysics systems (BaZi, Liu Yao, Qi Men Dun Jia, Synastry) in a single English-language platform, which no direct competitor in this directory matches.
- Automatic true solar time correction for the Hour Pillar is applied at chart generation, a technical accuracy detail that many BaZi tools omit and that meaningfully affects chart structure.
- Each paid reading includes three follow-up questions, giving users a structured way to probe specific aspects of their reading rather than receiving a static report.
Where it falls short
- Pricing is opaque: the live pricing page and web search both failed to surface any readable tier names or dollar amounts, making it impossible for a prospective buyer to compare costs before signing up.
- The platform is web-only with no mobile app, which limits access for users who want to check daily fortune or ask a quick Liu Yao question on their phone.
- The free BaZi reading is explicitly capped at a chart structure and brief personality overview; Ten Gods deep analysis, Luck Pillars, and all focus reports (wealth, career, relationships, health) require a paid upgrade, so the free tier may feel thin for anyone who has already read an introductory BaZi article.
Key features
Who should use Tideris?
Tideris suits someone who has heard of BaZi or Chinese astrology and wants a structured, readable introduction without buying a book or hiring a human consultant. A curious professional who wants to cross-reference a career decision with a Qi Men timing reading, or a couple who wants to understand their Five Elements compatibility beyond a zodiac match, will find the multi-system coverage genuinely useful in one place.
Anyone who needs to see a price before signing up should look elsewhere: the pricing page did not surface readable tier names or figures in either the pre-fetched content or web search. For users who want a calculation-first approach with clearly documented AI methodology and transparent pricing, OpenFate is the stronger choice within this directory. ChromaSeason is worth considering for the narrower use case of Five Elements outfit and color guidance, since it delivers a concrete 27-color palette for a stated one-time fee of $14.90.
Skip it if: Users who need transparent pricing before committing, or practitioners who want raw chart data without AI narrative.
Frequently asked questions
Is the BaZi chart really free, or do I need to pay to see anything useful?+
The free tier generates a full Four Pillars chart with a brief personality overview and gives access to daily fortune, outfit guide, zodiac fortune, and horoscope tools. Ten Gods deep analysis, Luck Pillars, and focus reports on wealth, career, relationships, and health all require a paid membership.
How much does a paid membership cost?+
Specific tier names and prices could not be confirmed from the live pricing page or any web search result at the time of this review. Prospective buyers should check the pricing page directly before signing up.
Does Tideris have a mobile app?+
No iOS or Android app was found for Tideris as of this review. The platform is web-based only.
What is true solar time correction and why does it matter?+
True solar time adjusts your birth time for your exact longitude rather than relying on a standard timezone. Tideris applies this correction automatically when generating the Hour Pillar, which affects the entire chart structure and is a common source of discrepancies between different BaZi tools.
Can I use Tideris for a specific question, like whether to accept a job offer?+
Yes. Liu Yao (Six Yao) divination is designed for specific event questions around career, investment, and relationships. Qi Men Dun Jia is available for timing and strategy questions. Both appear to require a paid membership or single reading purchase.
Is Tideris available in Chinese as well as English?+
Yes. The platform supports both simplified Chinese and English interfaces, and the site's Chinese name is 潮汐之眼 (Eye of the Tide).
