Pros and cons
Adobe Firefly
- Adobe's own video model is trained on licensed and public domain material, and Adobe states its outputs are safe for commercial use.
- Veo 3.1, Runway Gen-4.5, Kling 3.0 and Luma Ray3 run inside the same app and credit pool, with side-by-side comparison of one prompt.
- Content Credentials attach automatically and clips hand off to Premiere Pro, Photoshop and Adobe Express.
- Adobe does not publish how many free generations a day the free tier gives, so you only learn the limit by hitting it.
- About 20 five-second videos for the $9.99 Standard plan is expensive per clip next to Flow or Hailuo.
- The video page says Standard includes up to 40 clips and the plans page says up to 20, and the plans page does not show credits per model or resolution.
Luma AI
- Ray3.2 outputs native 1080p with HDR and EXR options, which Pika, Hailuo and Flow's free tier do not offer.
- Luma Agents run a brief through research, generation and refinement across video, image, audio and text in one workspace.
- Modify Video, Reframe and Extend edit footage you already have, billed per second rather than as a full regeneration.
- No free plan: the pricing page starts at $30 a month and signup gives only one-time trial credits.
- A 5 second 1080p Ray3.2 clip costs 400 credits, so the $30 Plus plan covers 25 of them a month.
- Web credits cannot be used on the API, and the iPhone app lists different tiers (Lite $9.99, Unlimited $94.99) from the web pricing page.
Our verdict
Adobe Firefly verdict
Best for marketing teams and agencies that need commercially safe clips with Content Credentials and want Veo, Runway, Kling and Luma in the same app. The trade-off is cost per clip: about 20 five-second videos for $9.99 on Standard, where Google Flow gives 50 free credits a day and Hailuo undercuts it on API price. Skip it if you want long clips or a published free credit number; Adobe does not state how many free generations a day you get.

Best for agencies and filmmakers who want native 1080p, HDR or EXR output and are happy to pay from $30 a month for it. The trade-off is that there is no free plan and a 1080p clip costs 400 of Plus's 10,000 credits, where Flow's free tier or Pika's $10 Starter get a hobbyist further. Skip it if you want to experiment without paying, or if you need a mobile-first social tool.
